So that’s goodbye to ready-meals, cereals, jarred and packet sauces, shop-bought cakes, muffins, biscuits, chocolate, sweets, packet noodles, salad dressings, processed meats such as packet ham and salami, white bread…

Basically, anything with a long shelf life which isn’t made fresh. As a rule, if the label lists an ingredient you wouldn’t find in your kitchen – it’s not clean.

Break it down into mini steps. Start swapping snacks such as crisps and cakes for fresh fruit or nuts and seeds. Swap toast and cereal for porridge, eggs or a homemade fruit smoothie at breakfast. One thing at a time. View our next tip (#2) here
